What is the CV Builder?

The BYAFT CV Builder is a free online resume maker that runs entirely in your browser. Choose from three professional templates — Modern, Minimal and Classic — fill in guided sections, and export a clean, print-ready PDF in minutes. There's no sign-up, no watermark, and nothing is ever uploaded to a server.

Your CV is saved automatically in your browser as you type, so you can close the tab and pick up where you left off. Build and keep several versions side by side — one tailored CV per role — and reorder any section with drag-and-drop until the story reads exactly right.

How to use the CV Builder

  1. 1Choose a templateStart from Modern, Minimal or Classic and set an accent colour to match your style.
  2. 2Fill in your detailsAdd your contact info, summary, work experience, education, skills, projects, languages and certifications in guided sections.
  3. 3Arrange and refineDrag sections and items into the order you want, and undo any change with Ctrl/⌘+Z. The live A4 preview shows where pages break.
  4. 4Export to PDFPrint and save as PDF to get a crisp resume with selectable text, ready to send or upload.

What you can use it for

  • Applying for a new job and need a polished CV fast
  • Tailoring a separate version of your resume for each role
  • Students and graduates writing a first CV
  • Refreshing an old resume with a cleaner, modern layout

Frequently asked questions

Is the CV Builder free?

Yes. The CV Builder is completely free with no sign-up, no watermark and no premium tier — build, edit and export as many CVs as you like.

Are my CV details private?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser and your information is saved only on your device. Nothing is uploaded to or stored on our servers.

What format can I export my CV in?

You export a print-ready PDF using your browser's print dialog (choose “Save as PDF”). The text stays selectable, so it copies and prints cleanly.

Can I create more than one CV?

Yes. The builder keeps a library of documents, so you can create, duplicate and switch between multiple CVs — handy for tailoring one per job.

Will my work be saved if I close the tab?

Yes. Your CV is auto-saved in your browser's local storage as you type. Clearing your browser data will remove saved drafts.

Is the exported CV ATS-friendly?

The export uses real, selectable text rather than an image, which helps applicant tracking systems (ATS) read your details. For maximum compatibility, the single-column Minimal and Classic templates are the safest choice.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, it works in any modern browser, though the two-pane editor and live preview are more comfortable on a larger screen.
